The Ministry of Natural Resources allows adjustment of the Northeast Passage plans
The plans for the load of the Northeast Passage are to be adjusted due to the coronavirus pandemic. The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Dmitry Kobylkin told the journalists about it.
“The Ministry of Natural Resources has no influence on the reduction or increase of the Northeast Passage goals. We only confirm the resource base. The Arctic is large and promising. The economic circumstances in our country and in the geopolitical field tell us whether companies can perform it or not. The fact that the pandemic has made certain adjustments is obvious. The minerals are being mined by people, not by robots; there are certain problems with shifts, transportation and so on. The necessary adjustments are to be done this year. But it’s impossible to tell the data and the exact numbers right now", he said.
