Teleconference bridge: A generational Arctic bridge from the present to the future
During the plenary session of the X International Forum Arctic: Today and Future, "Priorities of State Policy in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation", 5 children had the opportunity to conect with the authorities who work for the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
"Conservation and development of the Arctic today is necessary, first and foremost, for the future generations. We should already now establish a dialogue with those who in a couple of decades will take control and make efforts to implement the plans we have approved today. It is encouraging that children and young people are already actively interested in the state of the macro-region and Arctic projects," said the moderator of the plenary session, Doctor of Economics Mikhail Slipenchuk.
The children were most concerned about modernizing social infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted communications and Internet coverage, the environment, opportunities for international cooperation and exchange for schoolchildren, volunteers and students, as well as expanding opportunities for self-actualization for residents of the Arctic regions.
