Mishustin called the tourist destination promising for the development of the Arctic
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with Nikolai Zapryagaev, CEO of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, said that tourism for the Far East and the Arctic is a promising direction for the development of regions. Mr. Zapryagaev named the existing projects developing the Far East and the Arctic. The conversation between the prime minister and the general director is published on site government.
“Now tourism has become a promising direction for the development of the territories of the Far East and the Arctic. There is a unique nature there. Our citizens are going there. We need to create a normal infrastructure for these trips, a comfortable environment, hotels, and opportunities to get to the place,” said Mr. Mishustin.
Nikolay Zapryagaev listed regional development projects, including:
hike to the volcano, fishing, motor park, walk in the park with ecological routes (territory of advanced socio-economic development “Kamchatka”);
ski resort (“Mountain Air”);
glamping (“Valla Tunturi” in the Arctic).
The Prime Minister announced the need to attract investors, with the help of which it is possible to improve the infrastructure of the regions. Subsequently, in his opinion, “the socio-economic situation there (in the Far East and in the Arctic.) will be different.
Nikolai Zapryagaev also said that about 300 tourism projects are being implemented in special areas in the Far Eastern Federal District and 20% of projects implemented in the Arctic are tourism projects.
