Chilingarov congratulated the Marine Arctic Exploration Expedition on its 50th anniversary

Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic, President of the Association of Polar Explorers congratulated the pioneers of marine geological exploration in the Arctic - Marine Arctic Geological Exploration Expedition on the anniversary.

"Fifty years ago you were tasked with the most serious tasks of obtaining and studying geological data in the Arctic, including the shelves and islands of the Arctic seas, as well as in the World Ocean and Antarctica. The data obtained in the North Pole area was part of the justification of the Russian application to the UN Commission for extending the continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean. Studies in the Indian, Atlantic and other areas of the World Ocean, formed the basis for solving fundamental questions of planetary evolution. Given all this, today we can say with confidence that you have coped with these tasks and fully justified the trust placed in you" - said Chilingarov. 

In his congratulation he mentioned the recognized leader, an outstanding organizer of production, a great scientist Gennady Semenovich Kazanin, who devoted his life to the Marine Arctic Geological Exploration Expedition. Under his leadership, the Marine Arctic Geological Exploration Expedition obtained the status of a well-known and reliable company in the sphere of providing highly effective geophysical services to Russian and international oil and gas producing corporations. 

Artur Chilingarov emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Association of Polar Explorers and the Marine Arctic Geological Exploration Expedition, and that the Murmansk branch of ASPOL is traditionally the head of the organization.
Chilingarov sent greetings to the head of the Marine Arctic Geological Exploration Expedition Alexey Gennadievich Kazanin with wishes of strength and energy for prospecting and exploration of new deposits for many decades to come, to provide energy resources for future generations of people in Russia and other countries of the world.
