Rosneft became a partner of the Forum’s section
Rosneft Oil Company, PJSC is the largest license holder for continental shelf areas. The Company's owns 55 plots with a total resource potential of 41 billion tons of oil equivalent. 19 of these plots are located in the waters of the Western Arctic (Pechora, Barents and Kara Seas), while 9 plots are located in the waters of the Eastern Arctic (Laptev Sea, Chukchi and East Siberian Seas).
The Company is implementing the largest Arctic exploration program since Soviet times. Since 2012, more than twenty scientific expeditions have been conducted throughout the Arctic Ocean coast, aimed at the study of glaciers and icebergs, sea and coastal zones, rare species of animals and birds.
In 2020, Rosneft continued its work in the polar latitudes together with the leading scientific organizations of the country. Innopraktika Non-Governmental Development Institute, the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution Russian Academy of Sciences, the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, Lomonosov Moscow State University Marine Research Center, and others are among them. Unprecedented geological and ecological expeditions have been conducted, resulting in new knowledges about the Arctic region.
