Remains of ancient dwellings have been discovered in the Russian Arctic

One year ago, the residents of Lavrentiya village in Chukotka appealed to the scientists, saying that there are unexplored archaeological monuments on the territory of their settlement. Expedition of the Russian Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage has verified it.

Vladimir Devyatkin, the head of the Committee on the protection of cultural heritage of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, told TASS that we they have discovered some large monuments. Most likely, these are the remains of the dwellings of the ancient indigenous peoples. Currently, researchers are determining the name of the finding, and a year later they will begin to study the stonework.
