More than 50 Russian vessels, as well as more than 40 aircraft have been involved in the Arctic missile firing exercises, said Nikolay Yevmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
He has reminded that earlier the ships had conducted missile firings. According to him, the surface ships, submarines and aviation have worked together on a single complex target and he was satisfied with the quality of the performed exercise.
“As we are mastering the Arctic frontiers, the main focus of the exercise is Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The Russian Arctic is being guarded by the Russian armed forces, and they are building up here for the economic development of this region”, he added.
