ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS JSC On November 5, 1704 Peter the Great founded the Admiralty Shipyard, which became the largest shipbuilding enterprise of Russia. During more than three centuries almost 3000 ships and vessels of different classes and purposes came off the shipyard slipways. The engineers and craftsmen of the Admiralty Shipyard have created ships that have become key figures in the history of the Russian fleet: the first domestic steamship "Elizaveta"; the armored battery "Do not touch me"; the coastal defense battleship "Popovka" "Novgorod"; the world's first seagoing destroyer "Blast"; the corvette "Vityaz"; the prototype squadron battleship "Peter the Great"; the legendary cruiser "Aurora"; the largest battleship in the history of domestic shipbuilding "Gangut". At present JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" is the basic enterprise of the shipbuilding industry, the center of the Russian non-nuclear submarine shipbuilding. AISBERG PJSC The history of the Iceberg Design Bureau was established by the Council of Ministers of the USSR by its regulation of 22.05.47 No 1668-448S "in order to supply the Northern Sea Route with powerful icebreakers and transport fleet for navigation in the Arctic Region and to transform the Northern Sea Route into a normally functioning navigable thoroughfare". In pursuance of the Government's resolution the Ministry of Shipping Industry issued an order, by which it was proposed to organize a special design bureau, TsKB "L", with the participation of design specialists from the enterprises of the Ministry of Shipping Industry and Glavsevmorput, for the development of conceptual and technical designs and working drawings of icebreakers, as well as the design of icebreaking-transport ships, and to begin economic activity on July 1, 1947. Over the years by the projects of the Central Design Bureau many ships and vessels were built. Among them are the world first nuclear-powered icebreaker Lenin, the most powerful up to the present day nuclear-powered icebreakers of Arktika type, series of transport vessels of Amguema type, ships for Arctic and Antarctic research Mikhail Somov and Otto Schmidt, large series of small icebreakers of different modifications, floating maintenance bases for nuclear fleet. In cooperation with Vyartsilya Marine (Finland), limited-draft icebreakers Taimyr and Vaigach were built. |

BALTIYSKY ZAVOD JSC Since 1856, Baltiysky Zavod has been one of the leading shipbuilding companies in Russia. The shipyard specializes in the construction of 1st rank surface ships, ice-class vessels with nuclear and diesel-electric propulsion systems, and nuclear-powered floating power units.
