The ice-breaker Viktor Chernomyrdin is planned to be handed over in 2020
The Ministry of Industry and Trade expects the Viktor Chernomyrdin ice-breaker to be delivered to Rosmorport in 2020; the value of the contract may be increased.
“I expect our colleagues from the Ministry of Transport to support us and help us to find a solution in order to fully close all the contract conditions and hand over the ice-breaker to Rosmorport this year”, RIA Novosti quoted the speech of Denis Manturov.
The contract currently amounts to ₽8 billion, but, actually, more than ₽10 billion have been spent, he added.
“We assume that the contract price should be increased based on actual costs”, said the Minister.
The icebreaker is being built for working in the Arctic and the Baltic seas. Its length is 142.4 meters, width - 29 meters, displacement is 22 258 tons, speed is about 17 knots, autonomy is 60 days, ice trafficability is 2 meters, crew capacity is 38 people.
