The Russian Ministry of Defence gives priority to unmanned vehicles in the Arctic

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation bets on unmanned vehicles for the Arctic zone, for the Far North and the Far East. This was announced by lieutenant general Andrei Toporov, Head of the A.V. Khrulev Military Academy of Logistics.

He said that JSC KAMAZ conducted successful tests of unmanned trucks and control points in April of this year.

“Dmitry Bulgakov, General of the Army and Deputy Defense Minister, had announced that after receiving the results of the tests, he considers this direction of development of military vehicles to be the most promising and priority for the Arctic zone, as well as for the regions of the Far North or the Far East, where the climate and road conditions are harsh”, said Andrei Toporov in an interview to the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
