The Ministry of Industry and Trade can allocate 5 billion rubles for creation of arctic test grounds
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is going to allocate 5 billion rubles for the creation of three testing grounds for oil and gas and mining equipment for the Arctic, the head of the ministry Denis Manturov reported.
"Now plans include financing in the amount of 5 billion of three testing grounds, including Murmansk, Yakutia and the Nenets okrug", - he said.
He also added that a testing ground for Arctic equipment would be created in 2023.
At the same time, the minister noted that the financing of the project could begin in 2021.
"Given that it will be created in about two years, it may be completed by 2023 or by the end of 2023", - minister said.
The Arctic testing ground zone is designed to test prototypes of equipment, materials, as well as food and technological developments. Work on the creation of testing grounds is planned to be carried out as part of the state program "Social and economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation for the period until 2020".
