Rosatom is looking for Arctic personnel
The state corporation Rosatom may have a new position - a special representative for the Arctic, sources in the industry told Kommersant. According to their information, the special representative will report directly to CEO Alexei Likhachev and hold the post of his advisor. Kommersant sources call the current mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir Panov, the main candidate. Rosatom does not comment on this topic. The press service of the Nizhny Novgorod administration has not confirmed this information. Kommersant sources in the region note that rumors about Vladimir Panov’s leaving to Rosatom have been circulating since his appointment as mayor.
Kommersant source at Rosatom said that this option is under consideration, but no final decision has been made. According to him, there are other candidates for this post. The task of the special representative will be to coordinate the company's work with the regions located along the Northern Sea Route. This will be an “interdepartmental body” within Rosatom, which will connect the Northern Sea Route Directorate and the department for interaction with the regions, the Kommersant source concluded.
