Residents of the Arctic zone will be able to receive free land plots from summer 2021
The Ministry of Economic Development reports that the Arctic hectare program will start working in the summer of 2021. All residents of Russia will be able to get a free land plot of up to one hectare in the Arctic zone of Russia. However, only local residents will be able to submit an application during the first six months of the program. Alexander Krutikov, Deputy Head of the Department, told about it in his interview to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
After this period, residents of other regions of Russia will get such an opportunity. “In my opinion, it's fair to first give a primary opportunity to local residents", he said.
First, only Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts, Northern Karelia, as well as number of individual municipalities of other northern regions would be included in the program. Alezander Krutikov assures that there is enough land for everyone. “There is plenty of land plots in the Far East and in the Arctic, so each resident of our country can apply for a hectare. The project was supported by almost all the subjects of the Russian Federation. And the most important fact is that we were supported by those regions where the demand for land will be high", said Alexander Krutikov.
The received plots can be used both for housing construction and any economic activity. This land will be free of charge for 5 years, right after that the user will be able to legalize the or conclude a lease agreement.
