Arctic transport infrastructure: implementation of key projects is impossible without a developed network of roads

Igor Astakhov, Deputy Head of the Federal Road Agency, will participate in the working session "Development of land and water transport routes and provision of Arctic ports with access roads".

Today, the transport infrastructure is being actively formed in the Polar Regions. Key projects are Belkomur, the Bovanenkovo-Sabetta Railway, the Northern Latitudinal Railway, the construction of the Tommot-Yakutsk launch facility. Their full implementation is possible when creating a full-fledged road infrastructure. The problem of road construction will be revealed by Igor Astakhov in his report.

Within the framework of the working session, a number of topical issues are planned for discussion: the importance of roads and railways for the development of industrial projects in the Arctic basis of public-private partnership.

Also, the participants of the discussion will disclose the problems of raising funds from non-budget sources, discuss the development of effective mechanisms for state support of road construction in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
