Alexander Ischenko will present at the Forum the vision of the State Duma on the development of the mining complex
State Duma Deputy, Doctor of Economics Alexander Ischenko confirmed his participation in the business program of the VIII International Forum "Arctic: Today and the Future" He will speak at the panel session "Mining Industry Complex of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation: New Frontiers and Solutions" with a report "Improving Subsoil Legislation in the Conditions of Intensification of the Development of the Arctic Mineral Resources Base for Solid Minerals: Results and Prospects".
The mining complex is one of the reference points of the socio-economic development of the Arctic. Diamond, nickel, cobalt, copper, coal, gold, and other mineral deposits are concentrated in the region.
However, the realization of the high investment potential of the industry requires the solution of a number of key issues: from increasing the geological knowledge of the subsoil to creating an infrastructure for transporting solid minerals and training skilled personnel. In addition to these issues, the following topics are scheduled for discussion at the session:
- development of the mineral resource base of the Arctic region;
- the main problems of development of enterprises of the mining complex;
- construction of new facilities and the introduction of promising technologies for the development of mineral deposits;
- improvement of the regulatory framework for subsoil use.
