A. Olshevsky: In 2018, the volume of transit through the NSR reached 491.3 thousand tons
Alexander Olshevsky, Deputy Director of the Directorate, Head of the Department for Operational Management and Navigation of the Directorate of the Northern Sea Route of the State Corporation Rosatom made a speech at the strategic conference devoted to the Northern Sea Route at the international Forum "Arctic: Today and the Future".
A representative of Rosatom said that in 2018 transit through the Northern Sea Route reached 491.3 thousand tons. For transportation, 27 vessels were used. The main share of traffic accounted for bulk cargoes, amounting to 306 thousand tons, then liquid bulk of 98 thousand tons and, finally, general cargo - their share was 48 thousand tons. The volume of container traffic amounted to 32.7 thousand tons. Transit flights took place from July 24 to December 4, the average flight time was 9.7 days.
