Trutnev noted that it was not right to make the Arctic a territory of priority development

Russian authorities plan to present a general model of preferences for the Arctic by the end of March, Vice Prime Minister, RF Presidential Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District and the head of the Arctic State Commission Yury Trutnev said in his interview with Interfax. In his opinion, this model can’t be copied from the Far East, because there are other conditions in the Arctic."

«There must be a guarantee for the investor for a long time among the proposals. He should know his tax regime for years to come and calculate the payback period. Besides, he should understand procedure of delivery of construction materials and logistics of exporting finished products.  Transport support is also sore spot for the Arctic», – Trutnev said.

He also added that it wasn’t right to use mechanism of territories of priority development in the Arctic. «It’s not very attractive investment territory. That’s why, support should be made differently»,—Trutnev emphasized.

As known, before, the initiative to include the Arctic in the territory of priority development was supported by Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
