The creation of transport infrastructure in the Arctic will be the most important task for the Ministry of Transportation
In the next five years, about 10 trillion rubles will be invested in the creation of a new transport infrastructure. The most important target is a new track laying in the Arctic. It was declared by the Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov.
«The strategic task is the development of the Northern Sea Route. It is planned to increase its cargo traffic to 30 million tons by 2021. It will be achieved through the export of natural gas, gas condensate, coal and oil from the Sabetta, Dixon and Dudinka ports, realization of transit potential and attraction of a cargo base through the construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway», – the head of the Ministry of Transportation Eugene Dietrich said.
The Northern Latitudinal Railway, the Northern Latitudinal Railway-2, the development of the seaport system in the Gulf of Ob and other Yamal transport projects cost more than one trillion rubles.
«The Northern Latitudinal Railway is marked in all the speeches as a key project for the coming years. We also noted our plans for the development of the Sabetta port, turning it into a universal port in connection with the construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway-2, which is now being actively discussed», – the governor of Yamal-Nenets autonomous district Dmitry Artyukhov said.
«There are tasks for the development of aviation, especially in the remote areas. There is a positive experience in Yamal - it is not only a project of the Novy Urengoy airport reconstruction, but also a subsidy for air travel. There are new subsidized destinations, it allows making flights more accessible for residents», – the governor noted.
