The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lapland Timo Rautajoki confirmed his participation in the work of the VIII International Forum "Arctic: Today and the Future". His report will be devoted to supporting entrepreneurship in Finland.
Timo Rautajoki will speak at the working session "Economic Incentives for Development of Small and Medium Business in the Arctic". Within the session, it is planned to discuss promising areas of entrepreneurship development, conditions for upgrading the infrastructure for supporting SMEs in the Arctic and developing the exchange of best business practices.
Creating favorable conditions for small and medium enterprises is one of the necessary conditions for the development of the Arctic zone. This will provide additional jobs, improve the standard of living of the population, will contribute to the introduction of new technologies in the Arctic. At the moment, business in the Arctic is faced with issues of high cost of resources, underdeveloped business support infrastructure, lack of qualified personnel, and lack of markets for products. Today it is impossible to talk about the effective development of the Arctic zone without solving these problems.
