The role of science during the development of the Arctic and ensuring the country's national priority projects in the Arctic zone is very important. At the same time in the field of healthcare, the environment and provision if favorable living conditions in the Arctic, there is a scarcity of scientific research. Under the long-term strategic program of the RAS a separate unit of research is allocated: "Scientific basis of improving the quality of people's life in Arctic territories" that allows to coordinate the efforts of scientists in the development of this direction.
